How might I use these?

Conical flasks

are great for easily mixing liquids and seeing colour changes with a gentle swirl of the hand. They're also great for heat change experiments where students may want to mix liquids and feel the temperature change by holding the flask safely in their hand, with minimal risk of spillage. If you want to do a good 'Elephants toothpaste' experiment, a conical flask will help your foam to come shooting out of the top! These two sizes are the sizes we've found young students can handle most easily, whilst being large enough to carry out most home experiments.

Beakers

Often, beakers are sold in sets in a range of sizes, and only one of each size. This is no good if you're trying to run a valid experiment and want to compare two treatments, keeping variables (such as beaker size) the same! These two beakers are the sizes we've found to be most often used having two of each means your young student can develop their understanding of scientific protocol and set up more valid comparisons in their experiments.

Measuring cylinders

Often, measuring cylinders are sold in packs of five with at least two sizes you never really use. These three are the sizes we've found to be most often used and the design we've found hardest to topple!
