Who lives in the water? Outdoor STEM summer event
Who lives in the water?
Monday 26th July 2021
10.30am to 12.30
Forge Dam, Sheffield.
Fish, dragonflies, freshwater shrimp… the river at Forge Dam is teeming with life for your child to explore! We get in the river and learn scientific methods to carefully catch, identify and analyse what lives there. For those who want to, there’ll be opportunities to learn about indicator species, biotic indices, food chains and branching keys, while those who prefer can just get stuck in and enjoy exploring and learning about the range of life in and around the water.
Suggested for ages: ~9 to 15
Accompanied by parents / carers?: No
Maximum group size: Eight children
Shortly after booking, Sparking STEM will send you an email with an online registration form. Your child will not be able to attend until you have registered your child. Registration provides us with all the information we need to make sure we can meet your child's individual needs and keep them safe and well.
By booking an Outdoor STEM place you are agreeing to the following policies:
Cancellations due to COVID-19 / concerning symptoms / isolation
Sparking STEM asks that children do not attend if they have been told to isolate, or if they have any COVID symptoms, or if they have any similar symptoms that may cause concern to other participants in this current pandemic, such as coughs and colds (please refer to the full COVID-19 policy for full details). In order to encourage responsible and considerate behaviour in this regard, Sparking STEM has decided to temporarily offer a full refund to customers for individual sessions missed for these reasons. Sparking STEM asks that customers respect this trust-based policy and consider the impact that any abuse of this may have on a small business. Thank you.
Cancellations due to non-COVID-19 related reasons
If you wish to cancel an Outdoor STEM "Event" for non-COVID-19 related reasons (see above) you will be offered a full refund if you provide more than 10 days notice before the date of the event. If Sparking STEM is notified 10 days or fewer, but more than 48 hours before the date of the event a 50% refund will be offered. Refunds cannot be given on cancellations made within 48 hours of the date of the event.
Please read the full Terms and Conditions to which you are agreeing.
Students cannot be accepted without agreement to the full COVID-19 policy, please read it carefully before booking. Please note that we take a cautious approach. Students are asked to have a face covering available to use should it be necessary to break distance, unless exempt.
