How might I use these?
These offer a great way of doing lots of little experiments in one, particularly when you want to look for a colour changes in liquids. Here are some ideas:
- Add a drop of cabbage indicator solution (boiled red cabbage water) to each of the wells for example, and then try adding drops of other solutions (lemon juice, vinegar, bicarbonate solution, toothpaste etc) to the wells and watch for the colour change that will indicate the pH.
- Place a different food in each well and test them for starch with iodine.
- Place drops of different solutions in the wells and let them evaporate in a sunny window.. which ones leave crystals behind? What colour are they? (salt solution, sugar solution, epsom salt solution)

Top tips!
Wash in hot soapy water. If using iodine or strong colours wash immediately after use to avoid staining.
