How might I use this?

This slide allows you to make a tiny pond to observe microscopic organisms under the microscope! It also allows you to observe thicker specimens and larger volumes of liquids. The indentation allows you to observe small organisms such as Daphnia, rotifers and tardigrades in pond or puddle water without the risk of damaging them, (as you might with a flat glass slide). Simply add a drop of your liquid and cover with a cover glass.

It also allows you to look at a drop of liquid with the surface light of a dual light microscope or a stereo microscope, without the drop running off the slide.

Having three cavities in one slide allows you to line up several droplets at a time to search a larger volume of water without resetting each time.

Specification:

Glass slides (approx. 25mm x 77mm) with three circular indentations

Thickness approx. 1.5mm

Supplied:

One triple cavity glass slide in protective cardboard package

What goes well with this?

Cover glasses

Pipettes

Dual light microscope

Top tips!

Wash in soapy water and dry thoroughly. Buff with a dry cloth to remove water marks before use.

As the specimen is thicker, you'll need to use the fine focus wheel to focus through the depth of the specimen.
